Sports : THS Lady Bulldog Tennis Beats Lexington, 7-2

The Trenton girl's tennis team traveled to Lexington on Monday afternoon, and, with three 8-love routs as part of the scoring, rolled to a 7-2 team victory over the host Minutewomen.

Winning matches by 8-0 finals were Trenton's #1 singles player Megan Derry (over Bethanie Florence), #5 singles player Hannah Sowder (over Maira Lingres), and the #3 doubles team of Hannah Sowder and Hannah Brinser (over Linares and Ryals). At #3 singles, Trenton's Alvynne Villacampa downed Mikayin Turner 8-2, while at #4 singles, Trenton's Siara Bailey beat Kayleah Tye 8-1. Lexington's only varsity singles win came at #2 singles, with Allison Lueck downing Alexis Fender 8-5.

Trenton won two of three doubles matches, with Derry and Fender falling in their match to Florence and Lueck 8-5. Villacampa and Bailey grabbed an 8-3 victory at #2 doubles over Turner and Tye.

Two JV matches were played in Lexington, both won by THS. Tristan Dugan won her match 6-2, with Hannah Robinson winning by an identical 6-2 score.
