Sports : Trenton MS Volleyball Splits Matches With Plattsburg

Trenton and Plattsburg split volleyball matches played on Tuesday night at the Trenton Middle School gymnasium.

Plattsburg took the "B" team victory by scores of 25-14, 25-13. TMS Coach Amanda Pickett said, "The girls played hard and had a tough game. We have to continue to work on fundamental skills to improve and get prepared for our next game".

Trenton's "A" team had a strong night, beating Plattsburg 25-15, 25-17. For TMS, Ella Leininger had four aces and a perfect serve percentage (with 15 opportunites). Caroline Schlarb had 11 serves and three aces. Karli Provorse had two aces, and Grace Holcomb and Laura Carlson each had one ace. Provorse had two kills to lead the Bulldogs, with Maddie Searcy, Felisha Orndorff, Leininger, and Holcomb each picking up one kill.

Coach Pickett said about the "A" team, "The girls played a very good game tonight. I saw a lot of good things throughout two sets. We have a couple of days of practice to get prepared for our 8th tournament in Cameron this Saturday, which I expect to continue to see improvements and get better."

After this Saturday's Cameron Tournament, TMS returns home to play Lathrop, at 5 o'clock on Thursday night, September 26th.
