Sports : Gilman City Ladyhawks Coaches Show For Tuesday, 9/17/13

The Gilman City Ladyhawks are a quickly improving girl's softball team, having gone 2-2 over the past week, with two wins over the rival Tri-County Lady Mustangs.

Gilman City, in a first-round, play-in game on Wednesday in the HDC Conference softball tournament, defeated Tri-County 14-9 on Wednesday afternoon. In the quarterfinal that followed, North Harrison knocked the Ladyhawks into the consolation round, winning 16-9. Gilman City lost to East Harrison, 18-14 in Saturday morning's consolation semifinal. On Monday night, in their return to regular season HDC Conference play, Gilman City shutout Tri-County by a score of 14-0.

Gilman City's scheduled game on Tuesday night with North Mercer is postponed, along with the boy's game between Jefferson and North Mercer that was scheduled to be played after the Mercer-Gilman City girl's game at Gilman City High School.
