KTTN/KGOZ News : Kingston's Department of Revenue office to close

The Missouri Department of Revenue has announced the license office in Kingston will close after business hours on Tuesday, and remain closed until a new agent is named. The current contract is up for renewal, and the current agent, Lisa Prater, reports health reasons are preventing her from continuing to run the office, a job she has held since 2005.

A father and son from Norborne have been fined and required to do community service for illegally destroying two bald eagle nests on their Ray County farm. That is according to U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, Beth Phillips.

At 10:20 on Tuesday morning, the Broward County, Florida Sheriff's Department arrested 49-year old Kent Harris of Greenville, Mississippi in connection with the death of 46-year old Kecia King of St. Joseph last Saturday on Interstate 29 in Buchanan County.

KTTN/KGOZ News : Two deer taken in Macon County test positive for Chronic Wasting Disease

The Missouri Department of Conservation has received two positive test results for Chronic Wasting Disease from free-ranging deer harvested by hunters in north central Missouri during the 2011 fall firearms deer season. Both positive results were from adult bucks harvested by Missouri hunters in Macon County, and are the first CWD-positive results for free-ranging deer in Missouri.

Road Work Ahead : Bridge south of Albany closed for repairs

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the first Safe & Sound bridge project is scheduled to begin in Gentry County this week. The Highway 85 bridge over Thompson Branch, originally built in 1925, was closed on Wednesday morning.

KTTN/KGOZ News : NCMC Holiday Hoops reports profit from 2011 event

A report on last month's High School Holiday Hoops event was given at the North Central Missouri College Board of Trustees meeting. Foundation Director Steve Maxey said an estimated 1,000 student athletes were on the campus in Trenton for 59 basketball games played at the Ketcham Community Center.
