Bailey Wingard, a pitcher/infielder from the Maysville Lady Wolverines softball team, has declared her intent to attend North Central Missouri College in Trenton next fall and play softball for Head Coach Max Mothersbaugh. She is the daughter of Scott and Penny Wingard of Clarksdale and has a goal of becoming a certified public accountant.

The basketball season at Meadville High School, for both the girl's and boy's teams, came to a screeching halt on Tuesday night with losses to the Marion County Lady Mustangs and the La Plata Bulldogs, the latter coming in a late-night thriller that was close until the final moments.

Seven members of the public were in attendance when the Grundy County Commission on Tuesday was asked for its support in efforts by a Trenton woman to improve the safety of a railroad crossing in Trenton. Kristin Harper of Trenton wants get cross arms and lights installed at the railroad crossing on First Street in southern Trenton.
