The Missouri Public Service Commission approved a request filed by Kansas City Power and Light Company to change the fuel adjustment charge on electric customers’ monthly bills.
KCP& L proposed to adjust the fuel adjustment charge to reflect changes in its fuel and purchased power costs from January 1st through June 30th as well as a true-up.
The charge for a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month will increase by about 27 cents per month.
The change is expected to take effect October 1st.
