An Illinois woman was taken to a hospital after the sports utility vehicle she was driving was involved in an I-35 accident Sunday afternoon in Daviess County.
24-year-old Katrina Emery of Cary, Illinois was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The highway patrol reports Ms. Emery was northbound in the passing lane when she swerved her car to miss another vehicle that had merged into the passing lane. The Illinois car traveled down an embankment, overturned, and came to a stop on its side.
Extensive damage was noted to the car in the accident reported at 1:35 Sunday.
The driver was using a seat belt.
