Motorists traveling on U.S. Route 36 near the Macon County line will need to slow down for road work this week.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane of eastbound U.S. Route 36 in Linn County at the Mussel Fork Bridge near the Macon County line June 16 from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement repairs.

Those repairs are scheduled to take one day to complete. On Friday, June 17, they will close the passing lane of westbound U.S. Route 36 at the same location, again, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be a 14-foot width restriction in place during the work. All work and schedules are weather permitting and subject to change.

MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
