The Livingston County Clerks’ office will be open on two consecutive Saturdays for absentee balloting prior to the November 8th general election.

The clerks’ office at the Courthouse in Chillicothe will be open October 29th and November 5th from 8:30 to 12:30 to accommodate persons who wish to vote absentee.

For Grundy County, the clerk’s office at the courthouse plans to be open on just Saturday, November 5th, 8 to 12 noon, for absentee balloting.

By state statutes, absentee voting comes to a close November 7th at 5 pm, the day before the election.

A reminder too that next Wednesday, November 2, is the deadline to request that a county clerk’s office mail an absentee ballot to a potential voter if they know they will not be available to vote in person November 8th. This would involve students attending a college or university, individuals who are working outside the county for an extended period, a member of the military, someone who will be overseas on election day, or persons who are confined to their home or know they will be hospitalized at the time.
