Grundy County Commissioners have scheduled a pre-bid meeting regarding the proposed remodeling of the courtroom on the third floor of the Grundy County Courthouse.

The scope of the carpentry, electrical, and carpet work is to be discussed at the meting, scheduled for 8 AM on Tuesday, September 27th at the courtroom.  The meeting is mandatory for people wishing to bid on the remodeling work.

Presiding County Commissioner Rick Hull explained that project includes constructing a new judge’s bench at a more centralized location (front of the courtroom) instead of having it in a corner, rearranging where lawyers are seated, and general work to electrical outlets, computer accessibility issues, and carpet work.  The remodeling was requested by Circuit Court Judge Jack Peace.  Hull noted the judge’s bench would be built where it was once located, in the past.

Questions can be directed to the Grundy County Clerk’s office at the courthouse in Trenton.
