Green City FFA member makes final four for national award

The Green City FFA Chapter has made an announcement that one of its members is a national finalist for a proficiency award.

Their report said Zachary Ayers is one of four finalists for in the category of beef production – placement. He graduated last May from Green City High School.

The National FFA website also lists a member of the Milan C-2 chapter, Matt Stafford, as one of four finalists in the proficiency category of agriculture services entrepreneurship / placement.

Four national finalists have been selected in each of the award areas.

They compete for the top awards during the National FFA Convention this fall. Each of the proficiency award winners are recognized on stage at the convention

this October in Indianapolis. The FFA reports every national finalist receives 500 dollars cash and a plaque. The overall national winner in each proficiency category gets an additional 500 dollars and plaque.

Two other FFA members from this area are among 46 across the state to receive national proficiency award recognition. Joseph Michael Circo of Chillicothe earned a gold rating in environmental science and natural resources. Tyler Curtis of Milan is recognized with a silver rating in agriculture mechanics design and fabrication.
