A combined fundraising effort of the Chillicothe Fire Department and the nurses at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe set a new record.

Fire Chief Darrell Wright reports they received $8,386.52 in donations through fundraising and T-shirt sales for their annual “Pink Out”. He says $1,000 will be donated to Central School to go toward making port buddies and knot blankets.

A tidy sum of $4,386.52 will go to the Hedrick Medical Center Foundation to help with fuel cards, massages, nutrition counseling, and classes, Look Good Feel Better class expenses, refreshments for patients and families, survivor candles, and comfort crosses for families.

A round sum of $3,000 will be donated to the Hope Lodge to help with daily supplies needed to furnish patients and family members needing somewhere to stay while they or loved ones receive treatments.

Wright reports that community members donated $7,100 for the “Pink Out” last year.
