Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation to open applications November 1

The Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $96,000 in scholarships for this semester at colleges and universities in Missouri.

The awards went to 29 female graduates of North Mercer and Princeton high schools with six of the recipients attending The University of Missouri at Columbia; five at North Central Missouri College in Trenton; four at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph; three each at Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville and University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg; one each at Truman State University in Kirksville, the Columbia campus of Moberly Area Community College, the Boonville campus of State Fair Community College, William Jewell College at Liberty, Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar, and Ozarks Technical Community College at Springfield.

Application forms for the Spring semester will be available November 1st at the high school principal’s offices at the North Mercer and Princeton schools as well as online at each school’s website.

The Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation is funded by a trust established by the late Gene Kauffman of Princeton who specified in basic guidelines the scholarships are to be awarded to female, unmarried, non-smoking graduates of Mercer County high schools who have evidence of need.

The recipients must be enrolled in, and pass, at least 12 hours of credit in an accredited Missouri college or university and meet a grade point requirement.
