GEC Community Foundation, Incorporated Trustees awarded 11 grants totaling more than $6,600 last month.
The recipients included the following schools: Grundy County R-5, Laredo R-7, Rissler Elementary, Princeton R-5 Elementary, North Mercer R-3, Newtown-Harris R-3, North Harrison R-3, and South Harrison R-2.
The grants are funded through Operation Round Up, which is a program where GEC members and customers of the Grundy County’s Public Water Supply District Number One voluntarily “round up” their utility bills to the next even dollar monthly.
This helps fund education, health, and rural development grants.
The next GEC grant application deadline is March 31 and applicants must be non-profit organizations or other eligible entities.
