Gallatin Board of Aldermen approve bids

The Gallatin Board of Aldermen approved multiple bids at its meeting Monday evening.

The board accepted bids for LED street and security lights from Fletcher-Reinhardt Company for Cree Double Head Cobra-Head lights for $13,455 and Kriz-Davis Company for Cooper Caretaker lights for $4,095.

Fletcher-Reinhardt and Kriz-Davis submitted bids for both types of lights.

The board accepted H. L. Sinkhorn and Sons, Incorporated’s bid for tree trimming for $13,500.

The aldermen also accepted a cemetery mowing bid from Graber Outdoors for $450 for all city cemeteries. Legendary Lawn Care, Michael Walker, and Robert Krawl also submitted bids for mowing.

Public Works Director Mark Morey will collect bids for the resurfacing of Johnson Street from Olive to Willow and Jackson Street from Water to Willow.

Morey will also collect bids for tile repair at the city pool and the board approved the Park Board’s two new members. Deanna Swalley’s term will end June 1st this year, and Julie Vyrosteck’s term will end June 1st, 2018.

The board discussed the Transportation Sales Tax on the ballot April 4 which is an extension of the existing tax for one-half of a percent. It has been used for several street projects over the past 10 years.

The aldermen announced the Gallatin Citywide Spring Clean-Up is scheduled for April 25 and 26.
