The 2016 Freedom Festival in Chillicothe, MO will be held Sunday evening, July 3rd, 2016 (weather permitting) beginning at 5:00 pm in Simpson Park, next to Chilli Bay Water Park. The fireworks will once again be launched from the Chillicothe Country Club golf course.

Scott Rule, Freedom Festival committee chair, is thrilled with the response from sponsors this year.  Rule says, ‘We have seen nearly all of the same support from last year and even more sponsors have come forward for this year!  It is our passion to see this event grow to include more activities and more entertainment options, not only for the families of Chillicothe but also for those in the surrounding area!’

Rule, who took over the Freedom Festival in 2015, hopes everyone is able to come to the park and experience the Festival this year.

Some of the activities happening this year are: entertainment by Dustin Thomas and the 190 Rhythm Section, lots of food options, other vendors, music, face painting, a bounce house, and as a special treat there will be an opportunity to see a replica of the “Back To The Future” Delorean, and of course a fabulous professional fireworks display!  The following morning on the 4th, the Chillicothe YMCA will be having their annual Freedom Run starting in Simpson Park.

Rule adds, ‘As always we want to express our sincerest gratitude to the over 30 businesses and organizations that contributed to making this great event happen.  Without them, we would not have the freedom to do a festival!’
