A rural Trenton man has filed as an independent candidate in the race for Grundy County First District Commissioner.
Jimmy Martin of 751 Southwest 40th Avenue filed Wednesday at the Grundy County Clerk’s Office. As an independent candidate, Martin’s name will be on the ballot during the November general election. However, his name will not be on the August primary ballot, when political parties determine their candidates for November’s general election.
Incumbent Gene Wyant and Don Sager are running on the Republican ticket for First District Commissioner in the August primary. The winner advances to November’s election.
