First Baptist Church to be drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child

The First Baptist Church in Trenton will again be a drop-off location for donations of items for boys and girls around the world through Operation Christmas Child .

It’s a project of international Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse.

The organization is to deliver shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, notes of encouragement, toys and other gifts, such as a doll or soccer ball which are given to children overseas living in extreme poverty or affected by war, disease, and natural disasters.

Operation Christmas Child this year hopes to collect enough shoebox gifts to reach 12 million children with a goal for the Trenton area is to fill 1081 shoe boxes.

Donations are to be collected at the First Baptist Church in Trenton November 14th through 21st.

More information about Operation Christmas Child is available online at the Samaritan Purse website. By going online and donating $7.00 per shoebox gift, participants can follow their box to where it’s delivered in the world. They also can pack a shoebox gift online and upload a photo and note of encouragement.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.
