Fire Sunday burned approximately 30 acres of uncut grass in a hay field about two miles northwest of Spickard.

Spickard Fire Protection District Training Officer Jesse Richmond said the location was near the intersection of Kellog and January Avenues at 29717 Kellog in Mercer County.

The owner was listed as Colton Holthouse and officials say the cause of the fire was unknown. Richmond said there was loose hay in the field about one-eighth of a mile from the grass fire. There were no bales.

The Spickard and Mercer County rural departments fought the blaze with firefighters on the scene about one hour.

No injuries were reported.
