Kansas City Royals outfielder Jarrod Dyson, sidelined through most of spring training with a strained oblique, is making progress toward returning to the field.

Dyson hit on the field at Kauffman Stadium for the second straight day on Wednesday, and the team is considering optioning him to Class AAA Omaha, perhaps as soon as this weekend, to begin a rehab assignment.

No setbacks have been reported with Dyson’s work this week.  He originally suffered the injury during a Spring Training game on Wednesday, March 2nd.
