Drivers in separate crashes strike animals in roadway

Separate accidents in Carroll County injured drivers from Chillicothe and Bosworth when the drivers of the vehicles struck animals on the road.

The highway patrol reports 37-year-old Bryan Goodale of Chillicothe was taken by ambulance to Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton with moderate injuries.

Goodale was driving southbound on Highway 65 before sunrise when his car struck an animal and the car overturned. Vehicle damage was extensive in the accident half a mile north of Route C.

In yet another accident, at 8:10 am Sunday, the highway patrol listed injuries

as serious for 74-year-old Roger Wilhelm of Bosworth who was flown by medical helicopter to the University Hospital in Columbia.

Wilhelm was southbound on Route YY when his vehicle hit an animal just north of the Route M junction demolishing his vehicles

It was unknown whether Wilhelm was using a safety device.
