Trustees of North Central Missouri College today voted to offer a contract to a Michigan man to become the college’s next president. Members voted to employ Dr. Lenny Klaver of Houghton, Michigan with the intent to have him on campus June 1, 2016 to assume his new duties.
Dr. Klaver was one of two finalists interviewed in Trenton this month to meet with the community and college officials in pursuit of the presidency. Dr. Klaver and his son Easton will plan to move to Trenton in the coming months. Easton will graduate from high school this May. Dr. Klaver also has two grown daughters.
Dr. Klaver earned his doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. His first degree was earned from Iowa Central Community College. His bachelor’s and master’s degrees are from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. Klaver is currently the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Finlandia University in Hancock, Michigan. Previously, he was the Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Advancement and tenured faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Dr. Lenny Klaver began his professional career as an instructor and coach at Mormon Trail Community School in Garden Grove, Iowa. He is an Iowa native.
Dr. Klaver will have a renewable three-year presidential contract with an annual salary of $145,580 plus an annual $8,000 automobile allowance.
