Authorities report a mother and daughter died from a drug overdose and heat-related causes when their bodies were discovered this summer inside a car parked in a lot near Trenton McDonalds.

24-year-old Elizabeth Lafolette and her 11-month-old daughter, Shannon Jeannoutot-Lafolette, were found dead July 16th. Autopsies and other toxicology tests were conducted.

It’s believed by law enforcement that the two were in the car for up to 12 hours before a window was broken to gain access.

Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright has stated the deaths were ruled accidental.
