The Missouri Day Festival deadline for entering window and yard decorating contests is October 11th.
Businesses and organizations wishing to have entries judged in the window decorating contest should contact the Trenton area Chamber of Commerce or Jackie Soptic in Trenton. The contest, sponsored by Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, has first and second place cash prizes.
The yard decorating competition is sponsored by Citizens Bank and Trust with cash prizes to be awarded to first and second places in both business and residential categories.
Prize money is $50 for first place and $25 for second with entries limited to residents within the city limits of Trenton.
Entries for the Missouri Day scarecrow contest are to be taken to the Trenton Rock Barn October 13th between 9 and 6 o’clock, with the name and telephone number for each entry attached.
Prizes are to be awarded in two categories: Business/organization and individuals/families.
The contest is for all ages with prizes of $50 for first and $25 for second place, and $15 for third place.
Prizes for the scarecrow competition, and the yard and window decorating contests, are to be announced during the Missouri Day opening ceremonies the night of October 13th at 7 o’clock at the First Baptist Church in Trenton.
