Monday night on Interstate 35 in Clinton county, two vehicles were southbound when, according to the highway patrol, a van struck the rear of a pickup truck from behind.

Both vehicles traveled to the shoulder of I-35 and came to a stop.

The accident, five miles south of Cameron, involved a pickup driven by 49-year-old Michael Stallcop of Milaca, Minnesota, and a van operated by 49-year-old Boyan Mankov of Schiller Park, Illinois. Neither driver was injured.

A passenger in the pickup, 59-year-old Marcia Stallcop of Milaca, Minnesota received what the patrol called minor injuries and transported by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The report noted both drivers were using seat belts but it was unknown, at the time the report was compiled, as to whether the passenger was using a safety device.

The pickup was demolished while the van received moderate damage last night.
