Two drivers, whom authorities say were not wearing seat belts, were killed yesterday afternoon in a head-on crash in Nodaway county of northwest Missouri.

The site was two miles east of Maryville. The highway patrol said the victims were pronounced dead at the scene at 5 o’clock Wednesday.

They are listed as 47-year-old Kristy Lake of Maryville and 83-year-old Thomas Strueby of Conception Junction.

The major crash investigation team assisted highway patrol officers in determining a southbound car driven by Kristy Lake had crossed the center line of Nodaway County Route F when the collision occurred with the oncoming northbound car operated by Thomas Strueby.

Both cars were demolished.
