Chula street fair set for Saturday, September 16

The Chula Street Fair will be held Saturday.

The event includes a biscuits and gravy breakfast, a baby show, a cake walk, a parade, human foosball, carnival and street games, a Miss Cornstalk contest, a fish fry, Family Feud, a Little Miss and Master Chula contest, and raffle drawings.

Baby show registration costs $3 and is for diapers only as well as 2 and 3-year-old bathing cuties.

Bob and Cathie Sherrow will be the grand marshals for the “Cowboy Boots and Small Town Roots”-themed parade. The overall grand prize is $50, and cash prizes will be awarded for each category. Categories include most unique, antique, best theme related, and animal.

Human foosball costs $30 per six person team, and each team must have at least two females.

Carnival wrist bands for children up to 8 years old cost $10, punch cards for 20 games for children 9 to 14 cost $10, and individual tickets cost 50 cents each.

Little Miss Chula candidates include Hanna Gilgour, Victoria Gramenz, and Oaklee Venneman. Little Master Chula candidates include Maxwell Boon, Jaxon Boyles, and Oliver Reed. 2016 winners Hallie Ann Howe and Brody Dennis will crown this year’s top candidates.

Tickets cost $1 each, and prizes include cash, gas cards, and gift certificates. Tickets for the fire department’s quilt raffle cost $1 each or six for $5.
