The Chillicothe Street Department plans to close a portion of Polk street this morning to smooth the ends of a new bridge in eastern Chillicothe.
The project includes milling and adding hot mix to smooth the ends of the bridge because of settling dirt under the bridge approaches.
The street closure is described as Polk Street and Broadway on the west end and Polk Street and Missouri Avenue on the east end.
Motorists will need to use an alternate route during the closure and are asked to follow all signs.
The affected portion of Polk Street is to be closed this morning at 8 o’clock and re-opened by early this afternoon.
