Chillicothe police say an out of state man in his 30s, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at Hedrick Medical Center after being found unresponsive in a room at Econo Lodge and Suites.
Police said officers attempted life-saving measures until Chillicothe emergency medical services arrived then transported the man to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead.
Police say two and possibly three persons were sought in reference to an investigation of involuntary manslaughter and distribution of a controlled substance.
A cause of death has not been announced. An autopsy and toxicology test were to be performed as part of that investigation.
Chillicothe police detective Jon Maples said distribution of a controlled substance charges were to be sought. A decision on any involuntary manslaughter charges would be after toxicology results were available.
A female and a male were arrested on unrelated drug charges and taken to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail.
