Chillicothe Police Department answers 271 calls over busy weekend

Officers took a report of child molestation in the 300 block of Clay St.  The investigation is on-going.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Clay St. and Monroe St.  Officers arrested Brandi Kay Utley for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license revoked, possession of a controlled substance, assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.  Utley was transferred to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

Officers took a report of forgery in the 300 block J.F.K. Ave.  The investigation is on-going

Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle non-injury traffic crash on Bus. Hwy. 36 at Graves St.  A vehicle driven by William L. Franks collided with a vehicle driven by Beverly J. Martin after failing to yield the right of way.  Both vehicles received extensive damage.  Martin’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Peery’s Towing.  Franks was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way involving a crash and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.

Officers took a report of fraud which occurred at multiple locations in Chillicothe.  A suspect has been identified and charges are pending.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Commercial St.  The parties separated and no arrests were made.

Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle non-injury traffic crash on private property in the 600 block of Bus. Hwy. 36.  A vehicle driven by Anthony O. Longstreet was backing a truck tractor and trailer into a parking spot.  The trailer then struck a parked trailer attached to a truck tractor occupied by James M. Combs.  Minor damage was reported.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1500 block of N. Washington St.  The incident was determined to be verbal in nature and no arrests were made.

Officers recovered a reported stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Clay St.  The investigation is on-going.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Calhoun St.  The incident was determined to be verbal in nature and no arrests were made.

Officers arrested Neal James Miller on an active arrest warrant out of Chillicothe for failure to appear in the 400 block of Elm St.  Miller was processed at the Police Department.  He was unable to post the $500.00 cash only bond and was transferred to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail.

Officers arrested George Andrew Depler, Jr. for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license suspended following a motor vehicle safety spot check at Broadway St. and Trenton Rd.  Depler was processed at the Police Department and transferred to the Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

 Officers arrested Rigdon James Newsom for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Herriford St. and Second St.  Newsom was processed at the Police Department.  He was released pending a court appearance.
