Chillicothe firefighters were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to an alley between Calhoun and Cooper Streets and found a small area of the yard burning behind 1103 Calhoun.
According to a fire department report, the homeowner stated trash had been burned earlier and apparently embers had blown into the yard.
The fire department noted the homeowner, Tiffany Eckert, was issued a warning by Chillicothe Police for an illegal burn of trash.
There was no damage to any property.
