Chillicothe fire department responded to a pickup truck fire yesterday on LIV Road 238.

Fire Chief Darrell Wright reported the 2006 GMC pickup was totally involved when firefighters arrived. The cause is undetermined.

The truck was owned by Tanner Roberts of 14122 LIV Road 238. Wright quoted

Roberts as saying he was driving when he noticed an air bag light come on and then noticed fire coming from under the dash.

Chief Darrell Wright reported approximately 300 gallons of water was used on the truck fire during the 11 o'clock hour Tuesday.

Late Monday afternoon, Chillicothe Firemen received a call from the Canadian Pacific Railroad about a fire on the right of way just north of LIV Road Number 226.

When firefighters got to the scene of the fire approximately 400 yards north of the road, Chief Darrell Wright said a landowner was having some brush cleared along a fence line and had used machinery (a bobcat) to make piles of dirt and small brush.

Wright reported approximately 200 gallons of water was used to wet down the smolder to the point the fire was not going to spread to the railroad tracks.
