The Kansas City Chiefs will have four games in the 2016 NFL preseason, starting in early August.  Two games will be played at Arrowhead Stadium, with the two others on the road.  Opponents for the games are announced on Thursday afternoon, with dates and times to be announced later, after finalization of more specific scheduling details.

Kansas City, in Week #1 of the preseason, will host the recent NFC power Seattle Seahawks. Despite the Rams off-season move from St. Louis back to Los Angeles, the two franchises, who met for the “Governor’s Cup” in either preseason or regular season play since 1995, will play in the preseason in 2016.  Although a “cup” is not expected to be contested, since the Rams moved away from Missouri, the newly-minted L.A. Rams will host the Chiefs at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Week #2.

The Rams are scheduled to play in the Coliseum for the next three seasons (2016-2018), before moving to a new stadium in suburban Inglewood for the 2019 season.

In Week #3, the Chiefs return to the Midwest, but not to Arrowhead, as Kansas City travels to Chicago for a meeting with the Bears at Solider Field.  The Bears arch-rival, the Green Bay Packers will pay the Chiefs a visit in the Week #4 contest.

Locally, KCTV Channel 5 in Kansas City will televise all four Chiefs preseason games.
