A check presentation of more than $1700 was made Wednesday, July 6, for the Eric Lorenz memorial scholarship fund.

The money was raised during a basketball game in March at Trenton between emergency services workers called “Guns and Hoses.”

The scholarship fund is in memory of the late Eric Lorenz, a 30-year-old Trenton firefighter who was killed last August 1st in a skydiving accident in Ray County when his parachute malfunctioned.

Lieutenant Lorenz’ widow Rachel and their children, Lilli and Lucas, were at the check presentation at the Trenton Fire Station.

Rachel Lorenz will oversee recipients of the scholarship money.
