Charlie Dye Bridge replacement work continuing

Work continues on the eventual replacement of a bridge at the northwest edge of Trenton.  Demolition has been done on the old Charlie Dye Bridge.  Now, construction will be done on a new bridge on Northwest 3rd Street.

Grundy County officials, in October, selected Boone Construction Company of Columbia for the bridge project.  The cost is nearly $1,174,000.  It is all FEDERAL money, according to Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Tonya Lohman:

The old Charlie Dye Bridge failed a MoDOT inspection about five years ago and was subsequently closed:
