Students from Mrs. Howe’s leadership class at Central Elementary School recently experienced a hands-on learning experience on October 28, 2016.

The leadership group is the nature/agriculture group, the students get to meet once a week to learn how leadership connects with nature and agriculture.

The Litton Crusaders assisted the class this week with a field trip to Sydenstricker’s of Chillicothe and a field farmed by Boon Farms. While at Sydensticker’s John Deere of Chillicothe allowed the students to get up and personal with farm equipment. Brad Newman, the store manager, gave a short tour and sent the students home with a little souvenir. Next, the students stopped by a soybean field farmed by Boon Farms. During their time in the field, students saw what the plants looked like when they were ready to be harvested.

The students would like to thank all involved with the field trip, as well as the Jerry Litton Family Memorial Foundation for supporting this activity through the Litton Crusaders program.
