Cameron woman hurt in crash near Stewartsville

The highway patrol reports a Cameron resident received minor injuries when the car she was driving hit a pickup, overturning east of Stewartsville.

25-year-old Stephanie King of Cameron was taken to Mosaic Hospital at St. Joseph.

The driver of the pickup, 18-year-old Matthew Mason of Stewartsville, was not reported hurt.

The accident happened late Friday afternoon two miles east of Stewartsville on Route Y as the pickup was entering Route Y from a field entrance.

The investigating officer said the pickup failed to yield to the car, the car hit the pickup, went off the right side of the road and overturned. The pickup spun 180 degrees and went into a ditch.

The car was demolished with damage to the pickup was listed as minor.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.
