Cameron woman falls asleep at the wheel and crashes in Nodaway County

A Cameron woman was injured when, according to the highway patrol, she fell asleep at the wheel near Conception Junction

The accident happened Saturday night two miles east of Conception junction as the pickup truck was westbound when it went off the right side of Highway 136, went down an embankment, and hit a utility pole in eastern Nodaway County demolishing the vehicle.

36-year old Leslie Rhoades of Cameron was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville with moderate injuries.

The patrol reports Rhoades was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
