Two vehicles collided yesterday morning in Caldwell County at the intersection of Route B and Highway 116.

One driver, 85-year-old Mildred Murray of Braymer, was taken to Liberty Hospital with moderate injuries. The other driver, 44-year-old William Owens of Kearney, wasn’t hurt.

The highway patrol reports Owen’s sports utility vehicle had been stationary on the right shoulder of the road. Ms. Murray was eastbound. The patrol said Owens SUV entered the road in front of the oncoming car which then struck the front driver’s side of the SUV. Damages ranged from moderate for the SUV to extensive for the car.

Both persons were using seat belts in the 10:20 Wednesday morning accident.
