Budget among topics of upcoming meeting of Families and Friends of Developmentally Disabled

Preparation of next years’ budget will be among the topics for a meeting Monday evening October 17th of Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled of Grundy County. The public meeting begins at 5:30 at the Grundy County Courthouse in Trenton. Use the north door entrance.

Requests for purchase of service will be considered by the board members.

These include proposals from Grundy County Learning Center, Hope Haven Industries, Camp Rainbow, Indian Creek Therapeutic horseback riding, the Gifted group, Medicaid waiver, and the Hope or Prevention waiver. Proposals seeking funds were due October 10th at the Family and Friends office.

After executive committee approval previously, board member ratification is sought on requests for funding from University Extension, Trenton Heroes, and the Gifted group.

Other business includes an announcement of a transportation reimbursement grant from MoDOT; various reports and conferences; a family’s request to fund services; and a request to have a new board member beginning in January.

It’s also been announced the annual Thanksgiving banquet and awards for the developmentally disabled will be November 7th. at 6 p.m. and will again be hosted by the Hodge Presbyterian Church of Trenton.
