Barnes-Baker Automotive and Ford are providing a fundraising opportunity in Trenton on Saturday, June 4th.  The recipient is the recently formed “Trenton Parks Foundation”, which works to promote and advance growth and development of the Trenton Parks System.

The program, established by Ford Motor Company, awards $20.00 to a community organization for a qualified test drive of a Ford vehicle at a registered one-day event.  It is identical to the “Drive One 4 Your School” program conducted numerous times by Barnes-Baker Automotive to raise money for school organizations.

The Ford “Drive One 4 Your Community” event June 4th will be from 9 to 4 o’clock at the Trenton Middle School parking lot.  For every test drive at the June 4th event, Ford will donate $20.00 to the Friends of the Trenton Parks Foundation.  There is a limit of one test drive per household and individuals must be at least 18 years old to participate.  At least 300 valid test drives are needed to meet the goal of raising $6,000 from Ford.

Currently, the Trenton Parks Foundation is raising funds for a handicapped inclusive playground in the park system.  It is estimated $125,000 to $150,000 will be needed for the construction.  About $7,000 has been raised thus far.

Those driving on June 4th are eligible to enter a drawing for a Garmin Vivo-Fit 2 activity tracker, given away by Dave’s Body Shop.
