Audio: Governor Eric Greitens travels to Galt to announce high-speed internet initiative

Governor Eric Greitens came to Galt yesterday afternoon to announce a $45,000,000 initiative to bring broadband, high-speed internet to rural Missouri including schools, businesses, and farms.

The Governor said state and federal funds will finance all the infrastructure needed for broadband.

After his remarks in the Grundy R-5 school gymnasium, the Governor spoke with the news media including KTTN’S Tom Johnson.

 

 

Governor Greitens talked about where the money will come from.

 

 

The Governor recognize several young adults on what he called a “team” that developed the broadband, high-speed internet initiative.

 

 

Governor Greitens also had encouraging words for the students present, then made reference to 7th District State Representative Rusty Black.

 

 

Governor Greitens was asked why the Grundy R-5 school was selected for the announcement on the rural broadband initiative. He had spoken earlier Monday at a K through 8th-grade school in Holliday of rural Monroe County.
