Amity woman hurt in highway 36 crash near Stewartsville

Traffic accident

An Amity woman sustained what the Highway Patrol called serious injuries after being ejected from her vehicle west of Stewartsville Thursday morning.

The Patrol reports 44-year-old Carrie Long drove west on U. S. 36 when she changed lanes, and her car traveled off the north side of the road.

Long overcorrected causing the car to overturn, ejecting her and totaling the vehicle. The car came to a rest on its top in the driving lane facing west.

An ambulance transported Long to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph.

The Patrol reports she did not wear a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
