Albert and Carol Cross to be recognized by Missouri Community College Association

Doctor Albert and Carol Cross of Trenton are to receive the Missouri Community College Association’s award of distinction at the association’s annual convention November 3rd in Branson.

The cross’ donated $250,000 to the campaign to restore Geyer Hall on the North Central Missouri College campus.

Doctor and Mrs. Cross also established an endowed scholarship providing ten awards of $1,000 each year to students in NCMC ‘s Allied Health programs.

Doctor Cross also is being recognized for his involvement in the fund drive for the Allied Health Building on the campus which opened in the Fall of 2009 and is named in honor of Doctor Cross and his late wife, Vera.

The Award of Distinction, one of the highest honors given by the association, is awarded annually to persons who have demonstrated sustained service and commitment to their local community college.

To be selected, a person must have made a significant financial contribution to a college, demonstrated leadership in acquiring such gifts, or made a significant contribution of time or resources advancing the mission of community colleges throughout the state.

The Missouri Community College Association is a statewide organization through which Missouri community colleges work together to advance common agendas.
