Accident in Clinton County sends three to hospital, including Braymer, Mo. woman

An accident in Clinton County involving two vehicles, and five people, including a Braymer, Missouri woman, sent three to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The accident happened at 6:42, Saturday evening, May 7, 2016 when 70 -year-old Gary Batchelar of Bettendorf, Iowa was traveling north on US 69. 17-year-old Katelynn Dimes of Excelsior Springs, Missouri was stopped on the exit ramp from I-35 to US 69, and failed to yield to Batchelar’s oncoming vehicle.

Dimes drove her vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Stratus, into the path of Batchelar’s 2012 Chrysler 300, striking it in the front. Both vehicles came to rest on the south side of the roadway.

The patrol reported extensive damage to both vehicles.

Loretta Batchelar, 69, of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Dorothy Phillips, 84, of Braymer, Missouri, were occupants in the Batchelar vehicle and were transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Katelynn Dimes was also transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Anthony Clark, 17, an occupant in the Dimes vehicle, as well as Gary Batchelar were not reported injured, and released from the scene of the accident.

All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.
