4 from Cameron, including 2 children, hurt in crash on Highway 36

Four from Cameron, including two children, received minor injuries in a traffic accident late Monday afternoon.

The accident happened in DeKalb County on U-S Highway 36, approximately two miles west of Stewartsville at 4:55 pm,

The highway patrol reported a sports utility vehicle driven by 31-year-old James Lillard of Cameron was westbound while a pickup operated by 16-year-old Dusty Jones of Stewartsville was in the median crossover. The patrol investigator said Jones pulled into the path of the SUV striking the pickup on the passenger side.

Taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph were Lillard as well as passengers: 33-year-old Mary Ann Wright, 11-year-old Braedon Wright, and 9-year-old Harley Wright. Dusty Jones was not reported hurt.

Both vehicles were demolished and all occupants were using seat belts.
