3 northeast Missouri teens die in Schuyler County crash near Downing

Three teenagers were killed, including one from Milan, two others were taken to hospitals, and the driver was arrested in a single vehicle, rollover, accident Sunday afternoon in northeast Missouri.

The wreck happened five miles southwest of Downing in Schuyler County about 3:30 Sunday afternoon.

The highway patrol reports the victims who were pronounced dead at the scene are 15-year-old Alexis Shaw of Milan, 16-year-old Jason Sanning of Kirksville and 18-year-old Laticia Potter of Queen City.

Receiving serious injuries was 16-year-old Angalet Pogue of Milan who was flown by a medical helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Another passenger, 17-year-old Alyssa Sanning of Kirksville, received minor injuries and was taken by private auto to Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

The driver of a pickup, listed as 27-year-old Bradley Turner of Queen City, declined medical treatment at the scene for a minor injury.

The highway patrol major crash team reported the pickup was westbound when it overturned several times, ejecting four of the passengers. The demolished pickup came to a stop upright on Route D.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of Bradley Turner who was taken to the Schuyler County jail. The highway patrol accuses Turner of possible charges including three counts of vehicular involuntary manslaughter, two counts of vehicular assault, misdemeanor driving while intoxicated as well as careless and imprudent driving.
