3 injured, 2 vehicles demolished in crash east of Albany

Two vehicles were demolished, three persons were injured, and one driver was arrested as a result of an accident early Monday evening two miles east of Albany.

The highway patrol listed injuries as moderate for the driver of a car, 42-year-old Gary Johnson of New Hampton and minor for passenger, 18-year-old Casey Johnson also of New Hampton. The driver of a sports utility vehicle, 24-year-old Maisie Yeager of Albany, received what the patrol called moderate injuries. All persons were taken by ambulance to the Northwest Medical Center in Albany.

According to the report, the car was eastbound and the SUV was westbound.

The highway patrol said Johnson’s vehicle crossed into the opposite lane on U.S. Highway 136 resulting in the left front collision with the oncoming SUV.

The highway patrol accused Gary Johnson of driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, and no seat belt.
