Two cars collided at a Jamesport intersection resulting in one person being taken to a hospital.

The accident just after 5 o’clock Sunday was at North Grant Street and East Gilliland Road in Jamesport.

The highway patrol listed injuries as moderate for 20-year-old Amanda Osbon of Tina who was taken by ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. She was a passenger in a car operated by 22-year-old Roy Houk of Jamesport. He wasn’t hurt nor was the driver of another car, 18-year-old Kyle Downs of Trenton.

The highway patrol said Downs was northbound and Houk was eastbound.

The report noted Downs allegedly failed to yield as both vehicles entered the uncontrolled intersection. The front of Downs’ car, struck the passenger side of the car driven by Houk. The Houk vehicle then rotated and came to a stop off the northeast corner of the intersection. It received extensive damage. The car driven by Downs received minor damage.

Both drivers were using seat belts. It was unknown, according to the investigating trooper, whether Amanda Osbon (a passenger) had a seat belt on.
