11-year-old child hurt in Sullivan County crash

A child was injured late Thursday afternoon when a pickup driven by his mother slowed to make a left turn off Highway 5 in Sullivan County and was struck from behind by another vehicle.

The accident occurred four miles south of Pollock in Sullivan County at 4:45 pm.

The highway patrol reported 11-year-old Cole Clay of Pollock received minor injuries and was taken to the Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan. The driver of the pickup, 32-year-old Chassie Clay of Pollock, was not hurt. Neither was the driver of the other southbound car, 17-year-old Lacey Clark of Pollock.

All occupants were wearing safety devices.  Damage was extensive to the car and moderate for the pickup truck.
