The highway patrol reports three persons were in a vehicle that left Highway 136 and overturned early today. The accident happened two miles west of Mount Moriah in Harrison County.

The patrol described injuries as serious for the driver, 26 year old Robert Smith of Ridgeway. He was taken by an ambulance to the Truman Medical Center. Two passengers, 24 year old Joshua Mayberry of Princeton and 22 year old Morgan Smith of Ridgeway, were listed by the state patrol as refusing medical treatment at the scene.

The investigating officer reported the vehicle was eastbound when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to go off the south side of 136 where it struck a ditch and overturned coming to rest on its top. The vehicle was demolished in the accident reported to have occurred at 2 o’clock this morning.

According to the patrol, both Smith and Mayberry were using a safety device while the female passenger, Morgan Smith, was not.
